How a Dumpster Rental Can Take Your Spring Cleaning to the Next Level

How a Dumpster Rental Will Help You Complete Your Spring Cleaning ?

When spring arrives, there seems to be an almost natural instinct to set our minds on cleaning our homes. This gets pretty intense with some more determined homeowners tackling every surface, nook, and corner of the house. However, despite all that cleaning, your home might continue to feel messy. Why? You haven’t taken the time to declutter and get organized. If you want to take your spring cleaning to the next level, here’s how a dumpster rental could prove to be the ultimate solution.

Dumpster Rental, Not Junk Removal

First, a dumpster rental is not junk removal. Instead, you have a dumpster delivered to your home so you can make your way through the rubbish and decide what you want to keep and toss at your leisure. Junk removal puts the timer on, and forces you to make on-the-spot decisions, or take time to get organized before the service arrives.

With a dumpster rental, it’s all about taking your time and deciding what stays and what goes. Unlike the basic decluttering process where you only contend with “belongings”, the dumpster approach allows you to get rid of everything you don’t need and have it taken away all at once. It is easy and allows you to tackle the waste bit by bit until the job is done.

Chuck Those Larger Items

The most frustrating thing about a major declutter is that there are so many restrictions and demands on how you dispose of things. With a dumpster rental, you can get rid of those larger items without worrying about special curbside trash pickups and how they work in your area. What will they take; what won’t they? Where is the closest landfill site that will take those items? These headaches are resolved by tossing a whole lot of things in the dumpster, including:

  • Fridges
  • Books
  • Gravel
  • Freezers
  • Paper
  • Plaster
  • Renovation debris
  • Satellite dishes
  • Patio stones
  • Mattresses
  • Couches
  • Box springs
  • Sofa beds
  • Asphalt
  • Fences
  • Carpet
  • Ceramic and ceiling tiles
  • Televisions
  • Appliances
  • Bricks
  • Hot tubs
  • Wood
  • Electronics
  • Computers and monitors
  • Chairs
  • Furnaces
  • Scrap metal
  • Lathe
  • Lawnmowers
  • Tables/desks
  • Pianos
  • Sheds
  • Brush
  • Tires
  • Dressers
  • Pallets
  • Cardboard
  • Shingles
  • Garbage and e-waste
  • Concrete

There are some items your dumpster rental service might not be able to take, such as:

  • Paint
  • Oils
  • Chemicals
  • Solvents
  • Asbestos
  • Oil drums
  • Oil tanks
  • Gas tanks
  • Toxins
  • Explosives

However, you can get rid of those large cumbersome items that take up space and create clutter.

Tackle Yard Waste

The beauty of the dumpster is that it allows you to take your spring cleaning outside. You know you have many things that you’ve been meaning to take away, but just haven’t known where to take it. This can include things such as:

  • Old outdoor toys such as rusty, unsafe swing sets or jungle gyms
  • Rusting, rickety old outdoor furniture
  • Torn patio umbrellas
  • Old hardscaping materials like paver stones or rotten fencing
  • Useless pool equipment or cleaning tools
  • Yard waste
  • Damaged patio urns

You get the idea! If you plan to include an outdoor clearing, be sure you ask what you can toss in the dumpster and consider how much space it will take up. You might need to go for a larger dumpster, so speak to our team and we can advise you of the right size to accommodate that extra waste.

Your Garage

Another nightmare spot that is often overlooked during spring cleaning is the garage. As it’s a popular dumping ground, you might have things such as:

  • Old garden tools
  • Broken lawn mowers, snow blowers, weed whackers, etc.
  • Old tires and auto parts
  • Camping gear
  • Damaged and unused gardening items
  • Patio furniture
  • Unused child seats
  • Broken gazebos

The list is probably endless from sports equipment to area rugs. Also, don’t forget that shed or greenhouse.

A Time Saver

As already mentioned, renting a dumpster lets you clear away waste at your own pace. You avoid the following common issues:

  • You don’t have to make multiple trips in your car to take things to the dump.
  • You don’t have to worry about ruining your vehicle while transporting items that might leak or damage your car.
  • You have everything taken away when you’re done.
  • The dumpster is dropped off at an agreed upon date and picked up when you are finished.

The dumpster can hold as much as 384 cubic feet of rubbish, allowing you to save time and money with a single dumpster rental that homeowners need in most cases.

Organize as You Go

During your ramped-up spring cleaning, your dumpster forces you to organize as you work. Since you want to ensure you don’t miss anything, you can work from room to room and storage area to storage area and be far more brutal in your sorting method. You’ll feel empowered to throw the things out you really never use or no longer need, freeing up tons of storage space in your home. You can organize based on what you use all the time, what you use on occasion, and what you no longer use so that your home becomes neater. You can assign a spot for every item to keep things organized. The end result is a decluttered home that is a joy to relax in, as well as freed up storage space to help keep it that way.

Deeper Clean

Last but not least, because all that clutter is cleared away, you can clean areas that you haven’t seen in years. Your floor space is cleared so you can get into corners and along floorboards to remove dust, and your cupboards are also emptied so you can do a quick vacuum to remove all those dust bunnies. The end result is a deeper clean because you can reach every corner of every room.

While spring cleaning is not always a joy to undertake, once you are done, the peace of mind, sense of accomplishment, and lack of clutter helps you feel calmer and happier in your home!

Thank you for pointing out that you could use a roll off dumpster to help with cleaning your garage. My mom and dad have used their garage to store lots of things over the years and it is very full right now. My siblings and I have been talking about cleaning it out, but we’d never considered using a roll off dumpster to help with clearing out the mess.
